Toronto, ON August 28, 2004 -- The word is out on this must see and must attend musical show that has people talking since it began August 2003. KnightFlight Production’s unique and inspirational one-of-kind loft show has sold out every time since the beginning in their eclectic 3,000 square feet space loft.
DECIDE, an ‘urban centric’ themed inspirational musical for adults with an ethnically diverse cast of eight, takes place in the perfectly situated hip downtown King West area. The eclectic art decorated 3,000 square foot loft that holds audiences up to 200 provides the ideal backdrop for the show. The musical entertains audiences by combining an exceptional mixture of R&B, beat boxing, comedy sketches, spoken word, hip hop, dance, film, and audience participation.
“We are somewhat amazed and very thankful that we have been able to entertain and enthuse full to capacity audiences with standing room only every night in our make shift theatre space,” says Stuart Knight, Founder and Creator of KnightFlight Productions and the show DECIDE. “When I wrote the musical to be entertaining, I had no idea that we would be performing for a year and that so many people would find the show moving and would be compelled to tell their friends and family about their experience.”
In 1996, Stuart Knight launched his company KnightFlight Productions. After eight years as a successful entrepreneur Stuart has entertained and educated over 300, 000 people through his thought provoking show “A Whole New Perspective!" Stuart Knight is also one of the worlds most sought out keynote speakers with his high energy and theatrical speaking skills. He has keynoted many young entrepreneur conferences including the ACE Canadian National Conference in May, 2004 and the World Young Entrepreneurs Championships held in Frankfurt, Germany in October, 2003.
“This is an entertaining, talented and driven eight person show that literally grabs you by the chin and turns your head toward something excitingly new in what some are calling the revival urban grass-roots musical theatre,” says …..Jennifer Bill Senior Editor, 24 Hours.
DECIDE will take you on a journey through your fears, traditional thoughts, friendships, relationships and your dreams. “This show is truly unique to Toronto, it is an urban musical that literally turns into a party”, comments Knight. Once the performance is finished everyone in the audience stays for the after-party to mingle, have a cocktail and 'ride the energy of change'.
The one year anniversary DECIDE show is on Saturday, August 28, 2004.

LOS ANGELES, CA September 23, 2004 -- HDS Group LLC, of Beverly Hills, Calif., recently awarded the architectural contract for its newest infill housing community, NoHo Lofts in North Hollywood, Calif., to The Steinberg Group, Architects.
“When I conceived the edgy, new mixed-use development, I knew that only the most visionary and progressive architectural firm could realize my dream for this $10+ million site within the artist district of North Hollywood. The leadership of The Steinberg Group, Architects immediately grasped the essence of my concept and I saw my ideas quickly come to life on paper,” said Hagop Sargisian, president of HDS.
The urban-infill project, positioned within the North Hollywood redevelopment project area and the Fourth City Council District of Los Angeles, will involve coordination with the Community Redevelopment Agency as well as significant interface with the office of Councilman Tom LaBonge and the North Hollywood Neighborhood Council.
“Part of the challenge of designing an urban-infill residential project is developing community consensus and working in a collaborative fashion with all the agencies involved in order to design a complex that not only enhances the urban environment, but makes sense financially for the developer,” emphasizes Dave Mitani, AIA, principal of The Steinberg Group, Architects’ Los Angeles office. “As land prices continue to edge higher and fewer sites are available for construction, areas like the “NoHo” (North Hollywood) district are becoming more intriguing and more financially viable. Blending housing and retail clearly makes sense; it brings life to the neighborhood and creates a sense of community.”
The one-half-acre site is comprised of two adjacent parcels that were originally zoned for separate use, one parcel as residential and the other as commercial. The Steinberg Group, Architects’ design provides a unique solution that meets zoning requirements and provides a visually cohesive project.
“We were able to accomplish this by creating two buildings – a three-story building on the residential parcel and a four-story building on the commercial side unified by a second level podium and courtyard,” stated Mitani.
The use of balconies and the design of operable privacy screens, that tenants can use for light control, link the two masses visually. To provide visual relief from the surrounding areas, in addition to that of the interior of the structure itself, the metal panel and plaster clad building is designed in a stepped fashion.
The 27,000 SF structure is slated for completion in 2006.
Dave Mitani, AIA, serves as the design principal for the project. Chip Daniels, AIA, is project manager and Michael Miller is project designer. SQLA Inc., Los Angeles, is responsible for the landscaping. The general contractor has not been selected.
As one of California’s architectural leaders in the design of residential, higher education, and civic spaces, The Steinberg Group, Architects’ designs have been recognized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council on Senior’s Housing and the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials for its innovation and contribution to the quality of community life.
Founded in 1953, The Steinberg Group, Architects has over 100 architects and interiors professionals in its Los Angeles and San Jose, Calif., offices. Current projects in design by the firm’s Los Angeles office include: University Village Student Housing Complex, Pomona, Calif.; East Valley Middle School, Panorama City, Calif.; and the Lynwood Senior Center, Lynwood, Calif. Completed residential projects include: Fountain Park Apartments, Playa Vista, Calif., and Markethouse Lofts, San Jose, Calif. For more information, please visit www.tsgarch.com.
